Vaya Luyten
Botswana's first integrated digital public transport platform. Move with confidence.
Visit Vaya Luyten ↗Every day, around 400,000 people in Botswana rely on combis to get to work and school. Yet none of the combi network is tracked or managed digitally. Commuters wait 30 to 60 minutes with no idea when their ride will arrive, scramble for exact change, and have to learn routes by word of mouth. Drivers lose money to cash handling and have no record of their earnings.
Vaya brings the combi network online in one app. Commuters can track their combi in real time, pay by scanning a QR code instead of using cash, and plan their trip with a dictionary of official routes. Drivers get cashless collection, end-of-shift reconciliation, insight into peak hours, and a digital earnings history they can use when applying for credit or insurance.
Vaya is already live on Tlokweng Route 4, with drivers using it in their daily work and hundreds of commuters signed up before any paid marketing. It is built to work on low data and across Android and iOS.
